The boat racing festival on Go Boi River has been maintained for hundreds of years, closely associated with the residents of Thi Nai lagoon - it evokes the tradition of the homeland of the river region in fighting foreign invaders, at the same time demonstrating the strong vitality, bravely facing the waves to make a living of fishermen in the lagoon communes in the district. Today, the boat racing festival trains the endurance to serve fishing as well as aquaculture of fishermen in the area. On the other hand, this is also a spiritual activity expressing the unique culture of the coastal people...

The participating athletes are young, strong fishermen selected from 4 coastal communes of Thi Nai lagoon: Phuoc Son, Phuoc Thuan, Phuoc Thang, Phuoc Hoa of Tuy Phuoc district. To prepare for the boat racing festival, the localities have organized selection and training many days in advance, so the teams have created exciting and thrilling competitions. On each race track, the enthusiastic cheers of the locals and tourists have created an exciting atmosphere and spirit for the athletes.

Thousands of people poured into Tung Gian village, standing tightly on both sides of the Go Boi river to cheer for the athletes.

According to the Organizing Committee, this year there will be the following competitions: Men's rowing (400m): Swimming 1 lap, against the current; Women's rowing (400m): Swimming 1 lap, against the current; Collective boat: Collective boat turns around the channel, from inside to outside; Men's collective boat distance: 1,600 meters (400 meters x 4 laps = 2 double laps); Women's collective boat distance: 800 meters (400 meters x 4 laps = 1 double lap). As a result, the men's team of Phuoc Hoa commune won first prize. In the women's event, the Kim Dong village team won first prize.
The people here race boats not to distinguish between winners and losers but to bring joy, erase all the hardships, and demonstrate the strength of fishermen in the river area. This is not only an opportunity for fishermen living along Thi Nai lagoon to meet and exchange, to have fun and relax after a year of hard work, but also an opportunity for young people in the area to practice their endurance and flexibility, to serve fishing, aquaculture, develop the family economy, and contribute to enriching the homeland. At the same time, it is a wish for a year of favorable weather, peace and prosperity for everyone.
The Go Boi - Tuy Phuoc boat racing festival has become an attractive spring destination not only for the people of Tuy Phuoc district, but also for thousands of tourists from many other localities in and outside the province.
