Kinh Thien Temple of Tay Son is located in the spiritual tourist attraction of An Son, about 55km northwest of Quy Nhon. This is the place of worship to pay respect to and remember the great contributions of the Tay Son Rebellion in the fight against the invaders.

According to legend, the holy garden of An Son was the place where God granted them the holy sword and the sign engraved with “Sơn Hà xã tắc” (meaning the land of Son Ha). Before great rebellion against feudal reigns of Trịnh Nguyễn, unifying the country and sweeping the invaders off our territory, the three Tay Son brothers had conducted a ceremony here in respect to God and to ask for his blessing in the uprising.

According to Quách Tấn, in “Nước non Bình Định” record (“Land of Binh Dinh”), the geographists of Vietnam and China have recognized the Hoanh Son Mountain as great earth terrain because it has But (But Son - Hon Trung), Nghieng (Hoi Son - Hon Dung), An (An Son - Hon Giai), Kiem (Kiem Son - Hon Hoc Lanh), Co (Co Son - Hon Trong), and Chung (Chung Son – Hon Chuong) on both sides.

Kinh Thien Temple was built on a 46 hectare land in An Son area in the 364m high Hoanh Son mountain to the north-south direction. Kinh Thien temple is divided into three levels representing the Heaven - Earth - Man, and four entrances, in which the main gate to the south has a board inscribed “Bao Son Thien An” which means: This is the mountain with the seal of Heaven. The ritual road consists of 183 steps of the Zodiac Road to go to the temple.
